The anti-tank rifle

Solitaer: " I use the ATR almost exclusively. I love the difficulty of it and the challenge it gives to use. I also prefer its more flat trajectory for shooting inf at long distance. Now I am usually in the top 10 on the ATR top 100 list.

Playing Axis I hardly ever get a kill on an ET. Even the allied armored cars are not easy to kill. ALL the allied Tier zero stuff is hard to kill. Somua is nearly impossible and the CHAR is unkillable period. Then there is the matty in many years of playing this game I have killed ONE of them with the ATR (poor wolfie69 had her drivers hatch open). The fairly easy kills for an EXPERIENCED ATR'ist are, A13, Dalmer, Vickers, Pan, Hotckis. Of course the ATGs and Trucks are easy pickens. Once you get past tier zero it is a whole other story. You might as well have a sling shot if your trying to kill Tier1-3 allied tanks with ATR with the exception of the Stuart and if you are an expert the Crusader. Playing ATR as allied. I can KILL every single German tank minus the Tiger, PIIIH and Stug G. The Stug B, PIV, 232, 251, HT, Opel, PIVG, P38t, PII, PIIIF are all EASY kills for the experienced ATR'ist and most are easy kills for the ATR noob.

Now lets do the math. Thats 5 tier 0 allied units killable by the ATR NOT including ATGs or Trucks. And 6 tier 0 units axis killable by the ATR NOT including ATGs or Trucks. So the allies have twice as many units counting both countries and have less units killable by a weapon meant to kill tier 0 units?
Either the French armor needs a nerf or the German ATR needs a boost to its effectiveness. I say French armor because the matty is the only non killable unit for the Britts where the french have many more. Frankly the whole inf verses tank game needs a TOTAL revamp but thats another post all together. We need our antitank rockets.

An OKW Officer Speaks Out

(October 31st - Oberkommando die Luftwaffe)
(OKL) Keld4r, Kommandeur 1. Gruppe, 2. Jagdgeschwader: " S! Soldaten. Let me be the first to apologize to you for the tumultous events that transpired and ultimately lead to our demise. i KNOW my apology isnt worth 2 cents to you, but you deserve it nonetheless. I was online when the allied breakout occured, and i held my tongue. not to prove a point or any crap like that but out of negligence. I failed you, the axis playerbase by not speaking up and taking control of the situation. You see me sig, yes i am a luft officer. I am however an ex cinc and was the most experienced officer online when things went south, so ultimately the excuse that im luft holds no bearing, i failed in my duties as a senior player and officer within the okw to try and turn things around. I see a lot of my fellow axis players on here speaking out about equipment imbalance. Gentlemen, i was cinc at a time when i had to do rdp, crs didnt do it for us. therefore i speak with facts, not inuendo, nor rumor. yes, the allied armor is superior to ours. however..... and this is an important caveat here.... we have the capability to offset that created imbalance with our own kit in the form of the 88 and the stuka. It just takes a willingness to do so on our parts, and that is our, as a whole sides, failing. that "imbalance" is not a design flaw, it is there for purpose because that is how it was at the start. gentlemen, victory is up to us. if we want it we have to go get it. asking crs for a knee jerk reaction equipment wise isnt going to get us anywhere, that is basically asking for a crutch, and that crutch would taint any and all future accomplishments. tier 0/1 are our hardest tiers, without doubt. however it is because we as a side have given up trying to overcome a percieved allied advantage that we fail, not because of the equipment. quite simply put, tanks cant cap a town. i well realise our leaders of past are gone, plastic, dutchmon, schilling, zz etc. trust me, i was here, i learned under their tutelage, and i well recognise i will never be the leader they were to you. that does not mean however that we do not have leaders of equal capability within our ranks today. we just have to get those leaders to step up and lead, whether hc or not. my only goal since i have joined the hc is to increase hc/squad relations, to put the onus back on the squads to get the jobs done, and to basically, for lack of a better term, cater to our squads. Why do you ask? because it is not opinion but proven fact that the squads make or break the game. as an hc officer my job is to assist them and let them do their thing with as little interference as possible.

In closing: i, as an hc officer apologise for failing you. it will not happen again. i am prepared to stay up the hours required to offset our skilled foe in the wee hours if it is needed. i am willing to take every bit of knowledge i have gained, as a cinc, as an axis player of 7 years to any and all junior officer or senior officer willing to listen and learn. i am willing to try my utmost to instill the respect of squads and the ideaology of servitude to our playerbase within those i can. make no mistakes axis players. it was not some marvel new strategy of the allies that cost us this map. it was the mistake of your hc, and we have addressed it internally. i can not speak for everyone, but as the most experienced officer online during the break out it is my responsibility to respond to you and be held accountable to you. i will try my utmost to restore your faith in your high command. if you need anything while online, if you have suggestions while online, or think you see an opening or potential whlie online please feel free to pm me so it can be addressed. all i ask, even though to be honest i have no right to ask anything of you, is that you do not unsub, nor give up on us. we need you to log in. we need you to help shape the future of the axis side. we may be the "high command" but in truth we are nothing without you. the axis squads, the axis playerbase. the true strength of the axis side, always have been, always will be. S!

Achtung Luftwaffe!

(all credit to rote7 for the translation)

In english: " To your fighters, enemy bombers will be inbound as soon as the server is reset. It is our duty to repel the evil allied horde and never let them see our factories through their bombsites!!!!! Let there be weeping and gnashing of teeth as we decimate their raids!!! Let us punish them so that they refuse to try and enter our airspace again!!!! Let us force them to bring more escorts than bombers due to our diligence!!!! We, the Luftwaffe, are what stands between victory and defeat. Let there not be any tier imbalance, nay, let the allies suffer a 190 summer!!!!"

Generaloberst Xfire1, Kommandant des 6'ten Armee: " I hereby welcome (recognize) you in the name of the OKW. After day upon day of bitter fights/battles the weapons/guns on all fronts have now fell silent. You have fought/struggled (against) the enemy by land, by sea, and by air; bravely and completely without regrets/remorse! You have succeeded in forming a western front against the Allied troops, and were even able to expand and make progress. However, by means of powerful/strategic reservation of resources, the Allied troops have finally succeeded in driving this front to our domestic borders (the borders of our homeland). Unfortunately, we had to surrender (our cause) to the powerful, Allied "Vormasch" (war machine or Juggernaut).. Soldiers of the armed forces; You should indeed be proud of yourselves! In the most intense battles, you have fought side by side with your teammates (comrades), in divided/dispersed foxholes; and still yet, when the battle often seemed hopeless, you never gave up.. I am proud of you all! With superior/overwhelming force, we will smash the Allied powers in Campaign #48! With full motivation, we will rise up as the ultimate victor! I salute you all!"

The little Panzer that could

Kommandeur Drakhl reported: " During the axis attack on Paal, I rolled a Pz 3h from the FB straight into town (against all my instincts no less). I parked in between some buildings and proceeded to mow down infantry. I will now tell you the story of how my little panzer survived an unbelieveable amount of damage. While sitting in this spot, I had a sapper run up to me and place one satchel, which did no damage. I decided to relocate to a safer position near the AB. While sitting near the AB gate I began to take ATR plinks from the spawnable depot, which I counted to be no less than 15, possibly even 20. When the ATRs were frustrated by my MGs, they began to roll out 57mm ATGs, from which I took three shots to my frontal armour before killing them off with AP and MG. No damage. While sitting here, a 500lber bomb dropped right next to me, shaking me with concussion and hitting hard with shrapnel. I thought I was dead, and was happy to see that my little panzer had taken no damage whatsoever.

Once the depot was captured, I rolled out of the AB after a report of an S-35 nearby. I engaged the S-35 at point blank range, taking a total of three rounds to the front before I killed him. No damage. I then relocated to a hull down position behind a steep berm. As soon as I arrived a char b1 engaged me from point blank range, who had been hiding in a bush nearby. It took approximately 12 shots into my front for me to locate him, as it was so close the tracer did not render before the explosion hit my tank. I turned my turret and engaged him, firing about 8 AP until I killed him.
While I sat there I was mortared repeatedly, as well as ATRed some more. My commander now dead I was blind, and a sapper managed to get all four of his charges on me. He then shot about 2-3 clips of ammunition into me in frustration before a friendly infantry killed him. After being ATRed, ATGed, shot by two ETs, bombed, strafed and sapped, I RTBed at Paal for a total of 16 kills. Kills included 3 ATGs, 2 ETs and 11 EI. I am invincible!

Last stand at Remich

(October 12th - Axis Discussions)
(OKH) Unterfeldwebel Kenki reported from Remich: " I join up in the naval river town of Sierck-les-Bains to liberate the town of Remich from enemy hands. We arrive on the scene and other then the enemy finishing thier captures we find the city oddly quiet other then sparce engagements. I leave the opel driver wielding my light machine gun. Wile most of the main force attacked the south end I flanked from the north and gained three captures seeing the occational corpse of a british soldier. I head near the dock when anouther opel driver appears but when I join him as he heads to the city instead of the east armybase which was my intent. Mean while Prt. Supremus captures the dock which was critcal in the defence of the town, I advance tword the east army base. As I cross the bridge I encounter enemy sniper fire, rather countless times, non-of which hit me but it was very unnerving. I send out communications about the sniper and a friendly tank comes, but as I was on a time limit I had to cross anyway and continued to take sniper fire as I headed east, south of my final target.

As this is going on reports of enemy fbs are screamed on the communication channels, heavy infantry brigades and armor headed for the town as well as a para op of four men. We lacked the man power to hold the town and rapidly began losing men.

I arrive to the Armybase, steathfully expecting resistance yet not finding any and begin my capture when the Pvt comes to help. Enemeys are gaining a lot of cps and our resistance is faiding due to fatuged supplies. The Pvt and I secure the armybase. After five minutes of resistance eventually we had to give up and pull back. However I told them I would stay and defend untill our reinforcments arrive. The Pvt considered the city lost and abandoned his post.

Anouther 10 minutes later the defences of the east army base take out a few of the enemys inexperenced personel but I begin the hear the sounds of bedferd trucks. I set up my Light machine gun and mow down an enemy soldier. Lucky they wernt expecting a defender in the army base.

Anouther 5 min pass. They gained over three quarters of they city. Occational enemy officers and bedferds come but the armybase defence takes them out I sigh I relief. Being jumpy as hell after reports of more CPs are captured.

Four more mins pass. The enemy tries agian to get into the army base. First one enemy officer charges full blazen into it and I mow him down like the first one.. but my drum is out, I quickly replace it seeing two more enemy soldiers rushing in.. lucky they were sloppy and didnt have enough reaction time to take me out and I mowed both of them down.

Agian Sighing in relief.. Paratroopers have arrived, reinforcements at least.. they regain some ground but unfortunatly it was just a small moment as they took them out.. leaving me alone once agian.

Para forces heading to enemy fbs try to arrive to stop the enemy from flooding the city but it is too late. They captured the last standing structure before my position.. The docks...

Two mins pass after the docks are down. A few of what was left of frendlys took out some of the enemy force but were overran, leaving me trapped. Supplies never arrived in time. The ground rumbles... enemys begin to try to kill me by placing satchel charges. They try agian and agian but fail. Eventually the sapper trys to rush me but I got the drop on them and kill them before much dmg was done.

The enemy thought enough was enough... My was sweat dropping extrealy bad and I had began to be afraid hearing the rumble of enemy tanks firing on the bunker. It was shaking wildly, they made shots from the door, moving down the coridor slowly.. aganizidly slow... trying to hit me in my position... I find the rounds becomming way to close and I pull away... unfortunatly this ended in disaster as I had remade my position below the stairway not knowing an enemy soldier had enemy snuck in.

I ready my light machinegun knowing I will die, and in a quick burst of smg bullets I die.. Shot in the back by Enemy Officer Lt. Imded. They captured the city after my death.
