Last stand at Somzee bunker

Hauptmann Bagir reported: " 9 enemy men down in Somzee bunker. In Somzee Axis has no brigade, so only I and Flash99 spawned there via Philipville-Somzee depot. I run to bunker, and Flash99 stay in Charleroi-Somzee CP. Allies drop paras from low altitude, and after second of that their plane was downed by our AI.
I'm ran out of bunker, try shoot to the droped paras from LMG till they was in air (may be hurt two of them), and then began defend bunker. I got 8 of them, include Maj Gen Karelean, and then die. Flash99 also got 4 of them (I saw that in his log after battle). Hope there was good price that they paid for Somzee.

Allied airborne attack on Couvin repelled

Hauptmann Whipperman reported from the battle of Couvin: " I read the announcment, issued by axis high command, that a para attack on Couvin was about 1 minute away. At the time, I was guarding the Andenne cp in Huy and not much was happening. So I aborted the mission I had created in Huy and made a defence mission for Chimay cp in Couvin, Chimay cp being the only ei spawn cp at that time in Couvin. I set myself up in Chimay cp at the top of the stairs watching the 'back' entrance. After about 3 or 4 minutes I heard the drone of a C47 approaching and the sound of our own aaa firing. I ran down the stairs and outside to look up towards the sound only to see 5 parachutes open, and dropping my way. As I ran back inside the cp , to take up a defensive position again, I noticed yet another parachute further of. I will never know for sure how many there where exactly. I readied myself at top of the stairs facing the back entrance. I could hear atleast 2 sets of footsteps, nearbye, approaching the cp from either entrance. A first para came in from the porch area and as he ran passed, I fired and saw the blood effects and then a muffled scream, a second para came in via the back entrance and again i fired. I am not sure if he died on the spot or continued on to attempt to cap. I reloaded as I could hear more footsteps approaching. A third para came in from the rear entrance and I fired on him as he hesitated just inside the doorway, and he died very quickly! Another para and I can't tell you which door but I got a couple of rounds of on him and saw the blood but he continued through into the room containing the radio. I hesitated for a second as I realised that I had killed 2 outright and that 2 were only possibly wounded and could be capping. I waited a few seconds more but could here no further movement, so, I ran down the stairs, out through the porch and looked inside the "radio room" to realize that the radio was actually up close to the near wall and that any capper would be hard up against the wall for protection. I then approached the back entrance to find that there were 3 ei para bodies, but still one un-accounted for. I ran into the doorway of the radio room to see a capper hard up against the wall and next to the radio, I looked at him, took aim and fired headshots, I don't know if he was watching the percentage on the cap or what, but he did manage to fire atleast 2 rounds, off which none made contact.I am only sure that if anyone took that long to aim at me, in a cp, they would have been very dead. It was then that a radio announcement came across, that city cp had been capture, and I realized that they would be on the spawn cp very quickly. I heard footsteps in a building across from the cp and saw a para heading up to the second level, I sprayed and prayed with no effect. I ran into the bottom floor area of the building and concidered my next action when It was announced that the enemy attack on Couvin had been dropped. A single word was spoken by the enemy, "why". I always thought that all enemy words were jumbled?????? I could hear his footsteps as he came back down the stairs and I didn't have to worry about determining my next action as he never made it across the floor to the back door. That was number 5 para. I went back to Chimay cp and began telling my tale to the only other defender I could see, Krater, when i heard another set of footsteps in another building adjacent to the cp. I didn't want to go back up stairs as a shot could be made on me through the four upstairs windows from the surrounding buildings so I decided to hold out in the now vacant radio room, ( vacant except for the bodies).I lay in wait for about 3 minutes but then a burst of gun firing, none of which hit me, came from amongst the dead bodies in the doorway to the radioroom, para number six had crawled in and was after revenge. I opened fire in the aproximate direction, as I still couldn't define my target, and then heard a short burst of gunfire and my life was ended. Para number 6 had killed me. But much to my satisfaction, I found out in the post summary that I had also critically injured number 6 and caused his death."

Hauptmann Unclebob left Betheniville-Val-de-Vesle FB Nov 23 17:42 in order to hold of a british counter-attack from Reims and reported after the engagement with enemy troops: " After holding back the enemy offensive I rentered the area and investigated a reported enemy artilary position. With my trusty LMG in hand I located a battery of 3 6lbs guns firing in sucsecion so as to limit their visability to counter fire. I eliminated the battery of guns only to have them return three more times. Each time I once again destroyed the guns and their transport until they finaly gave in."

Before the night falls

Majoren Kbahr, Luftwaffe, reported: " I took up a F-4 out of Betrix a little while before night fell. Had someone on mission channel yell about being jumped by someone around 5-6 around Montherme. Decided I would head that way at 7k. As I made the turn west between Montherm and Charleville I see a grey circle heading east at 6k about on my 10 o'clock. Engage and it is a Hawk. We did a head to head, doubt I hit anything. I yanked the first turn to hard and black out, decide it's better to climb and hold the alt advantage. I think the Hawk driver lost Situational Awareness and I was able to briefly get some shots on his 6, don't think any hit. I end up overshooting him in a climb and he is able to get on my 6.

We both were in a low E state but I seem to have a little more than him, he does get some hits on me before stalling out. I start leaking fuel and start thinking about a run for home on the deck. As I stall I search for him and see him coming out of a shallow dive and I point my mose his way. I start spraying and praying as we do another head on both of us have our guns blasting. He starts a turn to his left before we pass and I see fuel streaming out of him. I saddle up on him and lead him with my guns while we are in a shallow dive. I score a hit every now and then and after about 15 seconds he disappears into nothingness. I head for home but eventually ditch near a freindly town due to a knocking in my engine."

Panzercolumn rolls Revin

Hauptmann Kpfzer reports:

Long time I didnt see any panzers columns out there, so I decided to lead one my self.
We were 15 panzers rolling togheter by the river side road of haybes to revin, ahead of us were two 232 scouting the area and searching for possible targets. we regrouped 2 times to make sure everyone would strike together, and so we did. Supported by 3 88s on the top of west hill and tons of infantry the panzer column invaded the city of Revin.
We didn't expect that much resistence, but the allies spawned infantry as never before, a great fight was setup. after several minutes of brutal street combat we manage to cap the ab before the allies moved a new flag in.
6 panzers survived to the battle and returned to base safe.

Maastricht post liberation

AAR from 91st Luftwaffe Officer Cadet Acegacek: " Sgt Major Acegacek lifted from Gladbach Airfield alone to check out enemy air presence over Maastricht, it was said over radio from ground chat that there were multiple bombers flying in and around the town. After I arrived, I was greeted by s sight of 6 RAF/FAF fighters chasing one lone bf109G6. With altitude advantage, I dove down to try to bugger the Spitfires and Hawks off my friendly. After damaging multiple and shooting down one, the 109 cam crashing down. After him, I was alone and called for help. I weaved my way to Maastricht FlaK guns which took out two of the Spitfire Mk IX's. Soon after, fellow pilots Sgt Major Signasty and Corporal Kev came in to my aid. We were over the bridges South of town, keeping in mind that we had FlaK guns set up not too far away. One by one, the allies sent bombers in to try to knock out 4 bridges. We encountered Blenheims, DB-7's, Hurricanes, P-39's and a few Spitfires in the few minutes we were over the target zone. Most bombers were shot down before they were able to release, sadly a few passed the three FW190's before we could get a guns solution on them. During our time protecting the bridges, we did not need to use our FlaK support, but still thanked their presence. The RAF had taken out one bridge but at a loss of supplies. A pair of bombers were let to run to base, to tell their comrades of the terror awaiting them over the bridges. Sgt Major Acegacek and Corporal Kev made their way back to Gladbach Airfield after their cannon ammo had depleted. Sgt Major Signasty chose to chase down a P-39 that had try to drop his bomb on the bridge, but was unable to. The P-39 pilot was in sight of his AA guns. Just a while later, Sgt Major Signasty sent the P-39 crashing to the ground, landing kilometers from the airfield. After Signasty left his present for the FAF, he returned to Gladbach Airfield for ammo and to meet up with his fellow pilots.

!S to all three pilots who took 30 minutes to secure bridges. In the next hour, the HEER was able to push into Gent and Bilzen, Making the Maastricht west side secure for the time being.

One bridge was down, three still standing. RAF/FAF lost multiple planes, and many more severely damaged."

Leutnant Tharik reported: " Our town was about to be overrun so I spawned a sniper and thought I might get a few kills before dying. I found a building to hide in and looked out the window. Two french fries and an EMS

Unterfeldwebel Semrdar reported: " I was being sneaky and malicious during the night when we were defending Julich. I was heading South along the main road to the right side. Saw my first victim, an LMG with my binocs. He was on the left side of the main road to the south with his binocs out looking towards east side. I snuck behind him, jabbed him two times and he's out. I haven't made my position yet. I then decided to keep on my route being sneaky. I then wished I had gotten an rifle instead, since it's wide open. As I was continuing on, I stopped to take a break and rest. While in my break, I took out my binocs out again, looked towards the west side of the road. I saw my next victim. Again with an LMG. I figured he was the same guy looking for revenge. So just to mess with him again, I stalked my prey. He was running parallel from the road to the north. I got up, and chased him down to a bush, he still hasn't noticed me. He got down in a bush and looked at his map. I got my knife out and jabbed him once, then he started to move forward, I then jabbed him again. He's dead. Shortly after, I hurried southward again so I can lose him if he spawns back. So after 20 minutes of nothing, I saw two French soldiers running towards the city from a bush. I wondered if that is were the MS was. It was still night, and I managed to get a different vantage point, and alas it was the enemy MS. I then hasted towards it and an enemy truck spotted me, he was towing an ATG with him. He was going to run me over, I then managed to go under the enemy MS and he took a sharp turn and the ATG unhooked and he tilted over, he soon then despawned. The truck kept on his way hoping I wont shoot him. But I didn't want to give away my position to everyone. So then I asked in 'Mission' and 'Target' on how to kill an EMS. (Since I never actually killed one before and I wanted to do it right.) They told me that either 5 rounds from a rifle to the engine will do it, or a nade. So that only leaves one option since I have an SMG. (Keep in mind that I haven't shot off one round from my SMG.) So then I popped a nade while I was under it, ran away from it, and BAM! EMS down. Hurrah! I then noticed a tank looking at my general vicinity trying to figure out what happened. I then hid in the bush where that same EMS was, he then just looked back towards the town. I waited about 10 minutes to see what I can do, if I see anymore victims for my blade. But nothing happened. It was quiet around me, the battle was being waged over by the east side of town now. So I carefully ran back towards the town vicinity to RTB. Good Sortie. :)"

4 enemy brigades defeated at Prum

Generalmajor Oliver35, Luftwaffe reported from the Airfield of Bitburg after returning his He111 from a bombing raid over the allied held town of Prum: " On the Oct 20 we started in the early afternoon close to 3 o'clock with CAP/CAS Prum from Bitburg. I took the LW OiC from Bitburg and i was proud to present more then 30 axis pilots in the air to prum. After 1,5 hours of time for coordinating with the heer, time for advertising for pilots and organisation of the flying korps, we kicked the allied troops out of prum. The attack on Prum was started with two allied brigades in Prum, then after 45 min, the allied moved in 2 more flags, and at least we kicked 4 flags outta there. We made a lot of hits on the enemies and took no prisoners, because we killed all enemies in Prum. Mission complete. S!"

The Battle of Ieper

Feldwebl Vanowen reported:

I spawned in a nice StuG III Ausf. G, one of my favorite tanks, er I mean assault guns. I headed WNW from the FB and there were mutliple reports of ATGs, ET, EI, and EA coming at us. Oddly we were supposedly the ones attacking the town but the allies were trying to push us into the FB. I sprinted West in an attempt to get away from the main fight and flank some enemies. On the way I made many sprints to cover and used the commander to liberally spot for targets. I managed to travel all the way from the FB to NW of Leper without a single enemy noticing me.
On the way to the town I spied a Laffy trying to sneak through the trees down South about 1.75 km away. I reported the contact and turned to face him. He was doing some circles and weaving probably avoid fire and contact from other friendlies that I couldn't see. From this distance and my cover there was no way he could see me. Just as he is about to head South and get out of view I decide to try for a miracle shot and fired 1 AP round off. Amazingly, I saw 2 tires go flying off and the Laffy spins out and stops. He despawns and I get a good chuckle from a kill that I really got through total luck. I set up on an angle about 1.5km from the Southern most AB about due west with a good view on the southern exit. I did a few ranges to make sure I had the proper range and was rewarded with a Sherman crawling out of the AB and stopping right in plain sight. I fired one round off and hit his turret from 4 o'clock. I fired another round and hit the engine compartment from 4 o'clock as well. The Sherman exploded in a immensely satisfying fireball. right after that a ATG gun crawls around the same spot oblivious to the fact that it might be wise. I repeat the process eventually killing the ATG but, that smaller target made me fire about 6 rounds to be sure.
At that point I reverse out of my position and move NW and then N and then E to a new position. I spot another ATG and fire a few rounds into him. He despawns but I get no kill for it *shrug*. At this point someone knows I am there so I back out and repeat the looping tactic West, N and then east.
I come back into a position where I can see at least 1 ET sitting in the bush waiting for targets. This tank is only 600 meters away. I line up the gun and fire a round only to have it hit the berm that I am hiding my StuG behind. I decide to risk it and charge up the slope to quickly kill the ET. I drive the 3 feet up the berm and immediately start taking fire from ANOTHER ATG or ET hiding N of my target.
I quickly lose all of my crew expect for my driver. I back out and run like hell cursing my bad luck with that small berm. I raced all the way South past a few startled EI and RTB using the cover of night to slip back home.

PzKpfw IIc clears Aubenton

Feldwebel Vanowen reported: " The AO on Aubenton had been up for quite a while and I spawned in as a MkII to avoid grabbing all of the good gear that I would probably waste anyway... I headed NW from the FB and sprinted away to avoid any EA for possible EI leaking up the the FB. Things were surprisingly quiet on the ground. There were some EA overhead dog-fighting with 109s but they did not care about us for the time. I was no enemy contacts and no reports were appearing on the map.

I decided to be a bit bolder and raced west ahead of the main infantry and trucks to a point NNE of the target town where I could observe some of the town and the road that leads into the town from the North. From there I could and did kill 2 AI mg nests to make the infantry able to get into town easier. I decided to creep closer to town, using the trees and humps in the ground as cover. I managed to get the attention of a AI AT nest and backed off without taking any damage from it. I maneuvered a tad East and worked down a line of trees and humps until I was in the town perimeter. From there I cleared the remaining AI MG and ATG nests on the north side of town.
At this point I have no idea how I am still alive, as I am in a cardboard armored MkII. A squirt gun could rip this thing in half, yet there is a very helpful dirth of enemy activity so far. I position my MkII overlooking the main square where I can cover the AB and the vehicle spawn and start calling for the infantry to get into town. A few guys come running in and go scurrying for the radios. Of course... the radios aren't ready yet so we have to wait for 10 minutes. After a while a Havoc goes flying slowly over town avoiding our bf109s. I manage to take a few pot shots with my mg and cannon as me circles the town very low and slow. Guess who got the kill for that Havoc... go on... guess. That's right me. Funniest thing I have seen in a while. I think he died of laughter.

By now the radios are just about ready to appear and so far, no enemies (expect for the odd EA). At this point more friendlies are getting to the town and getting into good spots. 2 EI spawn into the green 2 story huts right near me. I apparently picked a GREAT spot to park! I turned the turret and hosed down the EI and let everyone know that things are about to get hot there. The radio start to spawn as more friendly infantry and truck start to filter in and more and more EI spawn in. There are so many, that I can't shoot them all and they all KNOW that I am there being a pain the neck. I see 2 of them sprint north around a building looking to place charges on my tender person. I throw it into reverse and pull out of town while traversing the turret. I manage to barely get the 2 EI that were sprinting to get in behind me but, I am now 150 meters out of town.
I pull back up to the town a bit West to cover another angle, moving to a new spot is a good idea now that they know I am there and where I am. From this new spot I can kill EI that try to infiltrate the buildings North, and lay down over to our guys trying to get in closer. By now another MkII has taken up my old spot and a truck has brought up much needed ammo. We continue the slaughter until all the radios are capped. We then spend another 5 minutes making sure all the EI are cleared from the area.
At that point a couple of EA drop bombs on the town (out of spite) but kill nothing. I despawn to the depot with a mere 13 kills, one of which was a British heavy bomber

Successfull raid by Luftwaffe

Gefreiter Vanowen reported from the skies over Europe: " This was a major RDP raid into France. I was one of over a dozen He111 drivers plus a dozen fighter escorts. We formed up on the ground and let the escorts lift off first. We then lifted the He111s and headed to the rally points. We climbed as a group and headed S then W to the rally points.
Along the way we lost 1 bomber to a system issue and 1 to a enemy EA. There was some EA along the way but no concerted effort to stop us. These were mostly individuals trying to bust past our escorts and get to us. I managed to shoot at one EA as he flew by and then he was prompted flamed by a friendly escort.
As we neared the target the FL split is onto our targets. I happily dropped all 8 eggs right into the factory. We all RTB and had a great old time."

Alphie new Axis CinC

(OKA) From the Community report:

S! Axis Forces,

What a difference a new campaign makes in the fight against the Allied forces. There have been some great gains this week and more importantly better communication on the chat channels during attacks and defenses. Axis soldiers have been doing the important work of checking the CPs and attacking in a more coordinated fashion. The battles in the villages, towns and cities have been impressive, but not as spectacular as the hard fights on the country side and at the firebases. The fights in these areas really make or break the movement for the map!

We are seeing a better educated and smarter officer core on each side that provides great battles for everyone. Each side is looking for the other to make a mistake and capitalize on it; our goal is to make the other guy make the first mistake.

The Axis soldiers are fighting smart and attacking with proven tactics in a majority of the battles with the Axis squads doing the lion's share of coordinating their units with great efficiency. I would like to personally thank the dedicated Axis squads and players for stepping up and taking the fight to the Allies this week. I would also like to thank all the squad CO's who have contacted me personally. Working together we can achieve anything.

I would like to point out that the OKW officer core is currently 75% staffed. That is a remarkable achievement and I would like to personally thank each and every cadet who has applied to Officers Candidate School (OCS) and made it through to their command. There have been so many applications recently, our IKW training staff has had to work overtime to ensure these cadets are taken care of, so I tip my hat to the trainers for stepping up and doing whats needed. Just so you know, OCS training is just the beginning for these individuals as more advanced training in maneuver warfare, game mechanics and attack/defense tactics are offered to OKW officers. It truly is an eye opening experience be an OKW officer and to see how the game actually works. If you haven't tried it and have been curious, I suggest you apply and see what its all about. Besides, lets hit that 100% staffed mark!

I want to emphasize that the OKW is here for the Axis players. We work for you, the Axis players!

S!

(*!@#%!@# auto-pilot cuts out 5 seconds before bomb drop screwing up my angle. I re-align too late and drop on the town just after the bridge, hoped to kill some ETs. I turn in around and try again to have the autopilot do the same thing AGAIN. By this time the radar is red all around me. I drop my 2 bombs and head to base. Amazingly no EA contact, RTB without incident. Tactical bombing of bridges is a pain without a copilot or LOTS of time to setup on the target."

Update on breakthrough

Yes loyal freinds, the axis are surging towards the coast as we speak, witht he cowards in green running back towards their Island as fast as their trucks can carry them.

Morale has risen, battles are being won and the allies are ont he run after a superb breakthrough over the last weekend when the allies were crushed, the campaing could have been won by now but for the fact our HC in their wisdom decided to be kind to the allies and 'allow' them a way back to their factories as we wanted to win the map with a fight and not softcapping like the other side does as we all know

We at propaganda have been given much information of the weekend breakthrough and the reactions of both sides and wish to update the troops on the field to the situation.

Many a question has been asked about how a breakthrough happened apart from our battling effort and crushing attacks to the enemy, well here we have an exclusive picture from Brussels the morning of the attack:

Populated overpopulation

KarlHenz posted in Playskewls: " People often quote the Allies as having a greater overpopulation. Now as an Axis I have to admit this is not true the Axis do have a greater amount of time. However a vast amount of this time is dead time. What do I mean by this well if you check the stats on towns taken it only happens during the peak hours of high population. After around 6.00 AM GTM the map goes dead the only caps you will see are softcaps or if you are luckly the odd dock in kamperland. Until around 4-5 pm when we start to hit the European peak. This time is quite interesting it swings between allied and axis over population until around 8pm in the evening this is when the Axis kicks into full gear. They tend to have overpopulation until 12pm when it balances out until around 1pm when the population kicks into really high gear with the USA players. Their over population carries on till around 4-5 am before tailing off."

Responses from Playskewls:
Emerux: " Do the forums have a .ignore command like in game?"
Planck: " Angriff = Old and Busted. Karlhenz = New Hotness"

Oberst halts enemy advance

Oberst Pablin, Das Heer left the Launois Armybase at 19:39 january 7th 2009. During the mission that lasted 42 minute, the Oberst and his panzercrew managed to kill and destroy 29 enemy targets at the grim cost of his Pz VIe Tiger.

Maj Huskerne, BEF was on the recieving end and reported on the mayhem in a captured dispatch to AHC: " This was a great mission. It involved great thinking from our OIC at the time and then great driving/flanking skill to get behind you. Then it was an easy sap considering you were a Tiger Commander and thought no one could kill you so far away from the FB you were camping like a little girl. Great number of kills though. I am pretty happy with my 1 kill (YOU) since it took some skill and ruined you weak weenie fun.Thank you for at least NOT ALT-F4'ing like the majority of your commanders do. I give you partial credit for that.S! see you at the next camping........."
